About the role

In this pivotal position you’ll ensure all stakeholders are aware, fully informed and supportive of major infrastructure projects that maintain a safe and reliable electricity supply for our communities. This will include consulting with local councils and peak community organisations on a range of infrastructure upgrade projects designed to improve network reliability. You will lead and execute the delivery of strategic plans in partnership with senior council stakeholders. Direct community consultation and provision of a high touch customer experience for key external contacts will be critical to succeeding in the role.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree qualifications in Communications or related discipline
  • Significant proven experience in community engagement for major infrastructure projects including working with direct communities and Local Government 
  • Demonstrated experience in: developing and implementing community engagement programs and associated communications materials, directing community engagement contractors and working closely with civil contractors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in management of complaints and government correspondence including the ability to identify issues and address them through recommending and implementing community engagement activities
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement and manage issues during project incidents and implement policy decisions with minimal supervision
  • Advanced time management and organisation skills, demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals
  • Class C Drivers licence
